Three minutes after getting out of my car to take this picture, two police cars pulled into the lot and faced me. If I didn’t have light skin and green eyes, I doubt they would have let me leave unscathed. To say there is an aggressive, militaristic police presence here would be an understatement. …until this afternoon: strolling through Ithaca College, I glance up and see a hot air balloon almost touching the leaves of the tree next to me.
